Ugo Rondinone’s colorful stacked rocks in Miami, titled Miami Mountain, remind us that, no matter the shape or size of the pieces before us, we can always envision, create, and build something greater. Installed on October 27, 2016, in Collins Park, Miami Beach, and commissioned by The Bass Museum of Art, this monumental sculpture features brightly painted limestone boulders stacked like a contemporary cairn, glowing with vibrant color and unique form. Each rock carries an ancient, timeless energy while inspiring modern creativity, balance, and intention. The piece celebrates harmony, the beauty of possibility, and the powerful relationship between nature and art.
